Emoji Isle
A live multiplayer survival game. One island, everyone’s emoji. Hunt, craft, build, and raid — with strangers who might burn the base down.
What it is
An isometric multiplayer game Haven Command shipped and still runs. Solo and multiplayer are on the public title screen. The game currently presents itself as alpha, free through beta. Specialized software counts. Games are in range.
The problem
A shared world that forgets you after a restart is not a world. Multi-user software — games included — has to come back as one place. If players return to different islands, the product failed the only promise that matters.
What Haven Command built
The island, the loop (hunt, gather, craft, build, raid), and the unglamorous requirement that after a restart everyone is still in the same world. That last part is why the game sits on this site next to the business software: it is the same class of production problem.
Key capabilities
- Shared multiplayer island
- Solo play
- Hunting, gathering, crafting, building, raiding
- A world that has to resynchronize after a restart
What was hard — at the product level
After a restart, players were not in the same world. After the work, they are. Reliability is the product. The note is on Insights. This page will not explain how the island is stored.
Status
